PPTP和L2TP的区别 PPTP和L2TP都使用PPP协议对数据进行封装，然后添加附加包头用于数据在互联网络上的传输。尽管两个协议非常相似，但是仍存在以下几方面的不同：
1.PPTP要求互联网络为IP网络。L2TP只要求隧道媒介提供面向数据包的点对点的连接。L2TP可以在IP（使用UDP），桢中继永久虚拟电路（PVCs),X.25虚拟电路（VCs）或ATM VCs网络上使用。
2.PPTP只能在两端点间建立单一隧道。L2TP支持在两端点间使用多隧道。使用L2TP，用户可以针对不同的服务质量创建不同的隧道。
3.L2TP可以提供包头压缩。当压缩包头时，系统开销（overhead）占用4个字节，而PPTP协议下要占用6个字节。
4.L2TP可以提供隧道验证，而PPTP则不支持隧道验证。但是当L2TP或PPTP与IPSEC共同使用时，可以由IPSEC提供隧道验证，不需要在第2层协议上验证隧道 总之，对于一般的使用者来说，L2TP有更强的穿透率，更好的压缩，更好的加密（双层加密），所以如果你在使用PPTP失败的时候可以尝试L2TP.
iphone 下使用L2TP 设置
操作系统：iphone OS PPTP 设置
1. 点击桌面上的”设置”图标进入设置
2. 点击”通用”进入通用设置
3. 点击”网络”，进入网络设置
4. 点击”VPN”进入VPN设置
5. 点击”添加VPN配置”
6. 按照下面的示意图，在协议类型上选择”L2TP”，在”描述”栏中填入”UseSSH L2tp”(任意)”，在服务器栏中填入您帐户中的服务器信息，在账户和密码栏中填入您注册的用户名和密码，密钥为”usessh“,其他设置保持不变，然后点击”存储”。
7. 点击”VPN”开关，就会开启VPN连接，连接成功后，iphone右上角会出现”VPN”小图标

MOTO milestone PPTP连接VPN失败一直是一个大问题，导致无法观看youtube和不通过api上twitter，之前都是通过在无线路由器拨号pptp到vpn来解决的，今天逛论坛发现在手机端解决的方法，测试后已经直接可以在milestone上pptp vpn拨号成功了。
步骤1：http://melko.hiljanen.com/~qvr/android/ppp/ ，下载pppd和ip-up-vpn两个文件,或者本地下载zip包并解压缩Milestone VPN修复文件 (219)
步骤2：将这两个文件用工具，如root explorer分别替换掉/system/xbin/pppd 和/system/etc/ppp/ip-up-vpn 这两个文件
看看是不是vpn可以连上了。
注意：机器要root，替换前最好备份原文件，方便出问题恢复。
